David’s Observer column: The painful truth about a fair crack of the whip
David writes an excellent and quite profound peice on the musings of fairness:
David to play John Hardigger in ‘Salty’
David Mitchell is set to play John Hardigger in ‘Salty’ a project that is being described as ‘The World’s first crowd funded Hollywood Movie.’
The film stars Antonio Banderas as an aging rocker and reformed sex addict Turk Enry. Described as “The Hangover meets Spinal Tap” and co-adapted by Mark Haskell Smith from his own novel, the story sees Turk’s wife abducted by a group of renegade ship-less buccaneers while on an exotic luxury holiday. The film is based on a book of the same name and is being co-written by long time Mitchell and Webb collaborator: Toby Davies who also wrote The Teen’s TV Show spin off movie: The Friday Download Movie, which David played a small role in. And ‘The Dark Room’ a short movie which has yet to find a release outside of film festival screenings in which David starred as ‘The smart man’. More details will be posted here as they emerge.
